The Heart of HLCR

The people who show up for HLCR boots on the ground have always been at the center of our rescue. This is the story of one long-standing volunteer and a decade of dedication to the dogs who need it most.

It's Fang!

Our guy Fang stopped in with his foster dad to say hello and show off his brand new legs! This right here is what HLCR is all about 😍

Grounds Maintenance Help Needed

Marty can't find his favorite pink bunny toy in the grass anymore. If the grass gets any higher we're going to lose him too. Can you help?

HLCR is looking for a few good volunteers who are not afraid of a little Texas sun, a weed eater, and giving something back. You'll get fresh air, exercise, and the sincere gratitude of a bunch of dogs who can't work a lawnmower but appreciate the effort tremendously.

Highland Lakes Canine Rescue has 15 acres, dog play yards, and walking trails that need regular attention and so we really need some people to help out every couple of weeks. We work after 5pm, so the dogs are inside resting while you build character and, let's be honest, a solid tan. Our schedule is flexible though. Volunteering with us also comes with all the free slobbery kiss you could ever need.
