A medical emergency is any sudden, unforeseen injury or illness that poses an immediate threat to the dog's life, has the potential to cause permanent damage, or subjects the animal to severe, unmanageable pain.
It is a critical situation where waiting for a standard vet appointment is not an option, and immediate stabilization and professional intervention are required to ensure the animal's survival.
