At HLCR, we specialize in giving second chances to dogs who need them most. We rescue medically and behaviorally challenged dogs from overcrowded shelters where they would likely face euthanasia due to lack of resources, time, or specialized care.
Our mission is simple but powerful: no dog is beyond saving. We provide medical treatment, behavioral rehabilitation, and lots of love to help these deserving pups find their forever homes.

An animal shelter is a place where stray, lost, abandoned or surrendered animals are brought because there’s nowhere else to take them. Typically, these places are city or county operations. Highland Lakes Canine Rescue is more than a shelter.
