Poor baby looked more like a tumbleweed than dog when he was spotted alone 🙁 Matted head to toe, with fur tangled over his eyes. Spike's coat was packed with sticks and rocks. Thanks to the kind hands that got him to safety, Spike is here now!

He's getting a fresh start. After a major grooming session, it’ll take time before his coat shines again. He’s battling severe paw infection, hair loss, inflammation and irritation on his back. A regimen of medicated baths and any treatment based on future diagnostics are underway.

For all he’s endured, Spike has been nothing but gentle. This snaggle-tooth sweetheart is perfectly content hanging near your lap in the shade. He may be "ruff" on the outside, but inside, he's so pure!

Discovered with a collar so deeply embedded in her skin it required surgery to remove, animal control had to intervene. Thanks to a literal village of kindhearted people that rallied for her, Autumn not only recovered but reclaimed puppyhood.

Sometimes it's not a good fit, but guys, she's SUCH a good girl. This 4 year old is still a resident at our no-kill rescue in the Highland Lakes area. Greets volunteers warmly, loves belly rubs and has a special fondness for smaller dogs. Anyone searching for a husky-like pup without the vocal performances and quirk would ADORE Sarabi.

This rescue's untreated, old dislocation is finally getting the care she needs to improve her future's quality of life! After discovering her, we welcomed her into our Diamond in the Ruff program for homeless dogs with special needs.

Thanks to our partners at Hope Animal Clinic and Violet Crown, Roxy underwent a successful carpal arthrodesis (fancy vet-speak for joining bones at the joint). She's currently on strict rest, though her foster reports that containing Roxy's cuddly and wiggly personality makes it a challenge 😁

His transition had some challenges, but patience prevailed, and now they are inseparable playmates!

Heartbreak led us to Olaf and Elsa, who were discovered wandering Florence, TX, where a sibling had tragically passed on the side of the road. These beautiful souls remind us of the countless dogs out there facing similar hardships alone.

Olaf and Elsa are now receiving the care they need, but many others are still waiting for their chance at a better life. Most recently, Elsa and Olaf got fixed and vaccinated. And these two are just so sweet together! 😊 Elsa is a mellow girl that loves to cuddle, while Olaf is a ray of sunshine. After completing the rest of their vetting, they will be a paw away from being able to find loving homes 🐾

Rescue alum Ducky came to us in rough shape - hair loss, sensitive skin, numerous moles that required removal... Through our Diamonds in the Ruff program, this senior got the TLC she needed for a new beginning. Now she's safe and snuggling with her devoted family!

Ducky's mom has given us a pup-date: "I saw Ducky's sweet face in the description of a new Diamond in the Ruff dog. She seemed so innocent and alone. I knew I wanted to help this senior dog enjoy a better life in my household... I used to volunteer at HLCR and believe that there are too many helpless dogs abandoned by people."

Ducky enjoys cozy naps with her feline brother Ricky (who absolutely adores her), playdates with her doggy friends Alfie and Koa and the dedicated care of a mom who understands the needs of a senior pet. Despite health challenges, Ducky's mom has created the perfect environment for her to thrive in her golden years 🥰

Our latest medical intake of 9 puppies! All named after “Snow White,” meet the Mirror, Mirror Munchkins! They are a part of our Diamonds in The Ruff program with signs of dermatitis and possible worms. We’ll be working closely with them and our veterinary partners to make sure they get all the care they need to thrive as healthy, normal puppies. We can’t wait to see these babies grow up and in loving homes. Until then, stay tuned for pup-dates 🐾
